Fitness guide.com welcome to another episode of crazy Fitness guide healthy podcast Rec
6:07
motivation with crazy Fitness guy yes uh I'm kicking in old school with uh well
6:13
let's just say I'm using a zoom for this recording today because well uh let's
6:19
just say Simon's internet uh well if if you thought Verizon and I thought
6:26
Verizon and Comcast were terrible well internet is even worse
6:31
than that so there is a plus side to our crappy internet too so but we had to use
6:39
zoom uh not saying bashing Zoom or anything but uh so I don't have all the
6:44
fancy tools uh so consider this as a throwback
6:49
well it's actually not a throwback but anyway uh we're going backwards at the moment oh crap I need a time machine uh
6:58
anyway uh here Simon uh today we're going to be talking about his upcoming book and uh I
7:07
think I'm going to definitely get a copy at some point uh in the future when it
7:12
comes out you better get it out Simon yeah thanks Jimmy for for getting
7:19
me on the on this lovely Zoom meeting today actually yeah I mean um I bought a
7:24
book out with um a lady called Elina gyoda and we can go into that a little bit more but the book is actually out on
7:32
member Vault for 999 so everyone check that out and I can explain a little bit
7:37
more but um have you got any questions about the book and you know I'll let you
7:42
lead it of course today so what was so what's the point of
7:48
the book and why is it the best time for the book to be available now okay so you
7:56
know um as many other people know that I launched the Third now life coach book
8:01
um and I think in the second chapter I wrote about the kitchen and with a wavy
8:07
bench and fidget toys and stuff like this and it really helped my kids out with ADHD and I didn't make a note back
8:14
then you know it' be great it' be great to write a book and now being diagnosed
8:20
with autism as well so I have the old HD um I just wanted to bring out a book
8:26
for the whole family because it's not just the kids that have got it these days we can track it back to the parents
8:32
where they got autism and ADHD as well so um it you know it's always good to
8:40
help ourselves first of all when we found out the solutions that really work for ourselves we can push it out to
8:46
everyone else and help their lives you know help them lead a much easier life
8:52
really so that's that's the reason behind it all I know it's for myself um
8:58
sometimes I feel like I even though I haven't been diagnosed with ADHD sometimes I feel like I have a little
9:03
bit because if I sit in my chair too long I start losing like Focus really
9:09
quick and it's like I gotta go somewhere I gotta go take a walk I gotta do something completely else if it's
9:15
something like mindlessness like cleaning something organizing something
9:21
else I mean it's not like I always have to be doing something but it just has to be something different besides being at
9:27
this desk yeah yeah definitely and you know we've um
9:33
I've known Alina Alina's of Spanish Spanish origin actually um so I've known
9:39
Alina for about a year and a half she's an expert interior designer um so I'm doing the tech she's
9:45
doing the drawings and oh man we I saw her today and you know just it it's like
9:53
seeing your best friend all the time you know um so we've got a great relationship can I show the picture
10:00
there's the picture of the there's the picture of the book um so kids on top of
10:06
a roof I think we do that with ADHD most definitely and um yeah it's on pre-order
10:13
and we're bringing out in four languages so this isn't the difficult stage just
10:19
yet you make it sound so easy uh I realiz to write my own book as well but
10:25
so many things keep getting in my ash Dar way
10:32
stay with us we'll be right back thanks to our sponsorship with deep stash
10:39
you're probably wondering what the heck is deep stash well deep stash allows you
10:44
to learn stuff learn new stuff every single day you can become the smartest
10:50
person in the room with unlimited access to 200,000 plus powerful ideas from top
10:56
books podcasts and more they have a generous free plan and if you want to
11:02
check them out click the link below in the podcast descriptions either or will
11:08
work but you got but definitely check that out because if you're a daily
11:13
learner like me and like to learn new stuff I don't always have time to to
11:18
read 11 minute articles or 15 minute articles at a uh at uh during the day so
11:26
with deep stash I can listen to them on the go while I'm driving the car or on
11:31
an airplane Etc so go check out my friends at Deep stash you won't regret
11:42
it yeah um do you want to hear a few of the ideas that we've got already yeah um
11:50
you know you've got autism and since my diagnosis you know there's been lollies around there's been I'm
11:57
wearing baref shoes at the moment there's fidget toys as well to help the stemming and and just getting the um the
12:04
the nervous system back into check and there's going to be it's going to be different rooms of course um you know
12:11
the original idea I had a I I did a huge presentation for a like like Ikea but on
12:18
a bit of a smaller modern scale um 52 hours I prepared the the PDF and that's
12:25
really where most of the book information comes from um and we're just going around the rooms so yeah I mean
12:32
the teenage bedroom is called cozy but not superficial um the yeah kids bedroom
12:39
is going to be um you design 70% and your parents 30 I think that's really
12:45
cool from an autistic point of view because we like our way you know um well I can't I can't
12:53
speak from my for me I like a little uh color Maron like blue or something
13:00
just because I've let's just say I had one too many doctors growing up so
13:05
everything when those doctors happen to have all those white rooms and
13:11
everything and now every time I go in a white room it's like can you put some splash of color somewhere in this gosh
13:17
for S place I don't like what I mean i'
13:23
I mean I got rid of all my white shirts pretty much just because I just don't like the color white uh
13:30
yeah it just some it just it just reminds me of too much doctor's offices
13:35
I just don't like it and plus then get all dirty and everything and then it's like oh come
13:41
on yeah no no um we've we've created a space of you know emptiness as well in a
13:48
room so that we have the flexibility to move furniture around a little bit you
13:54
know um we've we've got a sofa that is in three different parts so you can
14:00
actually change the angles of it when you want to um yeah so I mean what would
14:07
what would you Jimmy um like if if you could come into our old HD home um
14:13
course it's called neurod Divergent and the all day D home um what would you expect having autism when you come in
14:19
what would you what would you like to have like my own safe place uh no one to
14:27
judge me uh if I'm just having an off day people
14:32
just kind of leave me alone if I want to talk about it I talk about it and they
14:38
just listen then try to fix something for me because you maybe if I just want
14:44
something to vent to you know maybe by venting maybe something will jar my
14:50
memory like like not saying like forgetfulness but just looking for the
14:55
right word let's just say by venting I might figure out what that problem is or
15:02
a solution to the problem and uh if you don't mind me providing an
15:08
example there so I set up a few different automations for my business
15:14
and just a few months ago everything was just hasn't worked hasn't worked hasn't
15:20
worked I got to a point and I finally dialed it in I got 15 of the 22 to work
15:28
so only seven do not and I was like okay I'm very close I was like my my point
15:37
being is I I used I I was focusing on the
15:43
everything not working part and I and I've been stuck on it and after just
15:50
doing a lot of deep breathing exercises I finally again my mind just to focus on
15:55
just focus on the part that is uh has not working
16:00
and and so I finally so it was a help that I kind of had some space and kind
16:07
of just did some different walks in nature but but basically if like if I
16:14
was there with you I would I like a safe SP space a space to myself a place I can
16:22
personalize my own space even though I'm uh I'm still living with my parents D to
16:29
uh my college right around the street for me and right right around the corner for me didn't make sense for me to move
16:35
out of the house but uh I for instance my mom got freaked out when I
16:42
got a shoe organizer not really an organizer but just like a place to put all my shoes
16:49
it's like a affordable kind of bag in everything and she's like I don't really
16:55
like that and I was like it's my room it's like it's going to be in my room and it's like it's not going to be in
17:01
your room it's not going to be in the hallway it's in my room and it's like I don't care what it looks like I like I
17:08
just want somewhere that I can zip it up not have any dust on it dark Hair Etc
17:15
and it's like but it looks bad in your room it's like key word my room she still hasn't and was Finding
17:22
she brought it up brought it up to her mom which is my grandma and my grandma said and it's like it's his room and
17:30
it's like hey someone else is on the same page she didn't like that either
17:35
it's got to be important that your room fits to you right um and and when
17:41
speaking with Alina you know it's um we we want corridors to be a transitional
17:47
um room in a way you know when we move from one room to another um and we we're
17:53
kind of um arring about fragrances and smells at the moment but and we're tend we're tending not to put any of
17:59
fragrances in because if there's four of you in the home and three of you have got ADHD and or Autism or both of it um
18:07
you know it's um we're looking for more shorefire ideas really um when you like
18:13
when you would go if I design your old HD home for example um so autism home um
18:21
when you when you go into a room do you want something as a centerpiece you know
18:26
when you go into your room I'd love to know about that well if I'm just using
18:31
my room example at the moment I would say my either my bed or my desk is my Cent to piece because that's the only
18:38
that's the only two things that can really fit I I mean I have two bookcases but they're
18:44
like this long and I this
18:49
wide yeah they're like right against the window and so but I would say my either
18:58
my bed or my uh desk as the centerpiece in my room because those are the two big
19:04
things in my room at no that's brilliant because um we're working on anchoring techniques for everyone with autism and
19:11
ADHD when they come into a room the the safety is there that the recognition of
19:17
something they know well is there you know um and you B brought up a good
19:24
point actually because a bed can actually be the focal point um and doing a section on um it's actually quite
19:32
clever a play on words ents instead of ornaments so ornaments are some you know
19:38
you know what ornaments are you put them around the home um and that's why I
19:44
wanted to do orament so the old old HD iments in a way that are really just
19:51
um suitable for us I don't want to give the whole game away really but but we're working on a triangle system as well for
19:58
ornaments and it really does direct the eye um gives the gives each room not in
20:05
every room um we have it pretty variable actually um for our senses which are not
20:12
to alert our senses but to calm down um and Elena has done a great job with that
20:19
with horizontal lines and vertical lines um colors as well I've left I've
20:26
let her do the colors um cuz what were you saying you like your blue you would like a
20:31
blue a blue wall right I think think have I don't think we yeah
20:40
it's too medical and a lot of us say I go for reg I mean more than regular checks at the doctor I mean you know um
20:49
and that's another thing we have so many so much testing um if it's due to a genetical disorder of course and the
20:55
last thing we want when we get home is is for it to be chotic isn't it really yeah it's
21:01
like you know for me every time when I clean my bathroom or anything in my room
21:08
I use uh water and vinegar because vinegar is a cleaning agent but I can't
21:15
stand the smell of super duper heavy chemicals I can't yeah every time when I
21:21
went to public school I mean I get that that's what the J the custodians used
21:27
but I was like I can't smell I I can't stand the smell it just sounds it smells too sterile
21:35
like the doctor's office is and and I'm not like complaining or I'm not saying
21:41
them to change or whatnot I get that guidelines regulations Etc but just for
21:47
my own personal space it's like I don't like comals I really really don't I
21:55
can't stand chemicals that's why we're not bringing in the smells um into it
22:00
because we don't want to be triggered you know um it's like the perfume
22:06
department and Macy's oh yeah just going in there it's like it smells good but
22:12
there's too many smells in this place I got to get the hell out it it's like when elf from the the
22:19
Christmas that show goes in and she go he go and she goes Peach spray or apple
22:25
spray and he sprays it in his mouth you know it's kind of like um yeah I know what you mean it's kind
22:31
of gets you from all directions and you think you're in the the fruit aisle right it's it's um yeah typical typical
22:39
neurodiversity I think yeah you know uh I also wanted to
22:45
bring up something as well that uh people might not know about uh autism is
22:51
that sometimes depending on the I I don't know if this this is how your
22:57
brain reacts to but depending on the layout of the store doesn't sometimes
23:02
seem like it gets overwhelming to you because like the other day when I was uh
23:08
for my upcoming trip and I'm not going to save for purposes for this uh interview but let's just say where I was
23:16
shopping for the stuff that I needed it was such a big store but everything was
23:21
just crammed together because they were fitting a lot of things in and I felt
23:26
like I was going to hyperventilate just because it's like where do I start in this store where the hell do I find this
23:33
I mean it's like it was easy uh everything was like all labeled and
23:39
everything I was like where did I even start finding this stuff it's like I'm kind of like everything just crammed in
23:45
at me I like here get this you you go over this aisle you need go over this
23:51
aisle you go this this and it's like holy crap at least I can find stuff in my grocery store and like that's not
23:57
woman but this is just like everything at you like here here this is and like and there's a and what I was not used to
24:05
that help was everywhere in the store it's like isend it the Twilight Zone I it's was like I'm grateful that father
24:12
helps but it's like everybody's so gosh on Jolly I go too everybody just like what
24:18
the hell get in and get out yeah and you know I've I've got
24:23
experience I've done my qualification in like Shop store and layouts of shops and
24:29
everything else and and that real that Real 2 meter of nothingness normally when you go into a store so you can get
24:35
your bearings is also something we' brought into the home you know we don't want to overload ourselves when we get
24:41
straight through the door you know um but yeah you're right wow and and loads
24:47
of people asking if you need help before you even know where you are it's it's crazy yeah I'm not like I'm not used to
24:55
it because wish if I go to the Best Buy I'm like Now where's the person I need to find to
25:00
help me with this this store uh I just go in and it's like hey can I help you
25:07
with anything I was like already yes can you point me to the
25:13
nearest place to for this product and this and this and this and like have no
25:19
no yeah inste printing you you come along with me yeah
25:26
yeah yeah I know um I wanted to I wanted to bring up the you know the launch of
25:33
the the book actually is on the 2nd of January um so it's on pre-order on
25:39
member vult I'll give you the link actually to put in for $9.99 and loads of people have signed up already um and
25:46
then we're we're we're doing a 16mon marketing campaign actually so four
25:51
months for English then we're go to Spanish then we go to German and then
25:57
we're finishing off with Italian um and and and that's just you know a lot of
26:03
people think autism ADHD yeah and you're that's kind of a a deficit it's not in
26:10
particular areas I'm sure you agree you know we're very very skilled in certain areas aren't we but languages we've got
26:17
yeah we've got four between us um so that we're actually going to um bring it
26:22
out in four languages that's going to be the hardest but also the most fun I think I would also say
26:28
uh social cues can be still challenge to me even though I have gone to be a lot
26:35
better with it I've always told my friends or even
26:41
new people that I meet and like but say anything that you don't like please let
26:47
me know and it's like and we can learn together because and say I can't read
26:52
minds it's like sometimes I get very frustrated with my mom or my dad if they
27:00
like well can't you tell him angry it's like no I thought it was you just being your regular or or or sometime my uh mom
27:10
want seems to make me guess at what she's feeling like just give me a cheat
27:16
sheet right don't you yeah and I get that um I've spoken
27:22
Lo of times about being around four people if I'm the fourth and not understanding it as well for the book
27:28
and I can't I can't tell everyone everything but we've actually Incorporated this aspect like hugely
27:35
into the house um and I'm you know you people are going to
27:42
be calmer than they've ever been before and I I think you know having autism and
27:47
ADHD I think we can be the best to do that so yeah definitely get a get a copy when it's out Jimmy and um and and just
27:55
see the it's a book for for every person whether you've got a flat or Mansion or
28:02
it's just super principles that everyone can take regardless of their budget and
28:08
just Implement in their home it's uh it's going to be a real game changers I'm really looking forward to just
28:14
calming down people's lives as much as possible including yourself as well oh I
28:20
definitely need some little bit of calm because you know uh the last two weeks has just been feel like been a blur and
28:28
and my brain would has been racing everywhere going here going there and I
28:34
noticed after a while my brain was not ever just present and
28:40
so uh recently I had someone on my podcast can't say the name yet because
28:46
it's not out yet but this U but this person came on talked about breath work
28:53
and never heard of it until he talked about it and it's different from meditation it's uh
29:02
again I'm not going to get all into it because he did and so he uh so I
29:09
basically been uh doing a lot of deep breathing exercises to and I've been my
29:15
brain's been feeling a lot calmer and feeling a lot more focused I've been
29:20
sleeping better and my mind's been more at ease I was like I wish I hadn't the
29:27
kind sooner yeah where were you like three months ago were you were you calming down your
29:35
veal nerve is that is that comes into it as well yeah I think because once we'
29:42
calm the Vil nerve down it's C it's a it's amazing really when we understand how to
29:49
do that yeah breath work is amazing yeah it's like it's so simple it's like
29:57
wow this feels really really really good I was like I wish I had to bir on a
30:02
lot sooner uh it just happened both of our schedules were just all swamped and
30:07
then I like feel feels really good to not just to be centered versus 50 steps
30:14
ahead 50 steps behind 50 steps to the side I'm like holy crap where do I
30:22
begin stay with us we'll be right back did you know crazy Fitness guy is not
30:28
backed by any corporate company and is just a one person show well there's this
30:34
term around the podcasting Community called Indie podcasters we're in I'm an independent
30:41
podcast Creator so because I'm not backed by huge big corporate company
30:47
well if I run out of money and and everything else crazy Fitness guy would
30:53
no longer exist no website no podcast no nothing
30:58
if you want to help support the show and keep our lights on consider becoming a premium podcast member of crazy Fitness
31:05
guys premium podcast you get behind the scenes access Early Access to shows
31:11
private Discord server and premium Discord roles and exclusive behind the scenes access PL start at $3.99 month or
31:19
$30 a
31:24
year yeah and and just for um just also some you know in this in
31:31
this Home Design book as well I'm actually going to get the um you know
31:37
ask particular guests when they've used certain quotes on the podcast um whether
31:42
I can actually put them in the book as well um I spoke to Jenny Anne about breath work I spoke to Jason John's from
31:48
the live headquarters um on the podcast I'm just going to promote our podcast a
31:54
bit as well so the m and mo podcast um and and Jimmy you've been on twice it's
31:59
been brilliant and and I'm M's willing to come back on yeah I know you want to
32:06
come on for the third time that's brilliant hey I have many things I've been doing
32:13
yeah we've got to do that we've got to oh my God I I I can say now but honestly the last version that we did I edit that
32:21
so heavily we're having s we were having such a laugh but also we took it really
32:27
to the limit on what we can do for podcasting what we can say but it was um
32:34
it's brilliant and the downloads are really high so yeah thank you I mean thank you for bringing over you know
32:40
autism it's it's wonderful when I've got the three different aspects on the
32:45
podcast So yeah thank you Jimmy it's brilliant anytime I'm I'm around well
32:51
except for next two weeks but
32:56
uh yeah yeah so uh if you had some of uh what what do
33:05
you hope for this book to do to help people besides calming their minds and
33:12
everything else in their life okay so um a few years ago it was really just
33:18
singular people just having an ADHD ADHD diagnosis like I did and then our world
33:23
changes and we get used to that and then the autism as well that's coming out so late diagnosis of both really um and
33:31
people's experiences of that but now it is really just
33:36
noticing um that whole families are do are neurod Divergent actually um and
33:43
just catering to their needs um it isn't just calming them down you know from the
33:50
second chapter of the 13 hour life coach book that I wrote it was really the process of getting up in the morning you
33:56
know so starting with meditation for example you don't have to do it it's just an option that I put in there um
34:03
and just you know what is the routine of getting your ADHD autistic kids up you
34:10
know um giving them good communication skills you know we're going to eat now
34:16
you know if they're very young um having like clear surfaces so something that's
34:22
not going to overload them packing the bags for school um and making making
34:27
this kind of every day a bit of a more comfortable Journey you know to get out the door or dad to go out to work you
34:35
know he's got autism how how can we do that so it's a lot of it's a lot of life
34:41
going on within that home that I just want that obviously I've got the knowledge to implement now with the
34:48
skills of Alina gaer who's absolutely fantastic in interior design so my last
34:54
three questions for you where is the book available and then my other my um first first let
35:01
me know about that and then I'll tell you the last so the book is available on
35:07
member Vault um just on member Vault it's um
35:13
absolutely you can do everything with member Vault um so it's available one there for $9.99
35:19
pre-order um and it's on pre-order because we've got four languages coming out of the book and we just need to set
35:27
it all up like that uh before the release date on so the English version 2nd of January and I'm also doing an
35:34
audio version of the book as well which I know sounds a bit strange but we we're
35:41
very skilled of ADHD autism that I can actually bring it out on an audio book
35:47
so when you're traveling you can listen to it and get the real concept without looking at the book as well so there's
35:53
these two options that are coming out and my next question to for you is who's your favorite podcaster and why and feel
36:00
free not to send me my favorite podcaster is one of the
36:06
original podcasters actually of all time um can't remember his first name but his his last name is Flynn and um he he
36:15
started in about 2007 um and I learned so much about it you know um people
36:21
wanting to be podcast guests but writing hey you know a no name and everything
36:27
else and and I learned a lot of good communication from that and
36:33
um how much he you know he's written a couple of books about podcasting as well
36:39
he's been a mentor of mine and I do look back and see what he's doing so Flynn is
36:44
his his surname I can't remember his first name Patrick Flyn sorry Patrick Flynn I think it's Patrick he's got
36:52
millions of downloads he's um a really good source of podcasting information as
36:58
well so a wonderful guest one is Pat Flyn yeah Pat Flyn Pat Flyn that's it um
37:06
he's got the whole the whole lot um really good communication style um
37:11
editing everything that you'd ever need for podcasting so that he's my favorite podcaster besides me right and of course
37:18
you Jimmy no I just throw you off the show right now I'm kidding uh we did published
37:26
quite a few cast haven't you now actually yeah I'm currently at as of right now would
37:34
be 8 84 almost
37:40
84 100 with how many 50,000 downloads isn't it it's a lot more than no my
37:45
downloads is like a total of 3500 okay and my podcast is almost at uh 84 down
37:55
total episodes oh well yeah I mean with on my side it's been this is the third
38:02
relaunch isn't it you know um close to 70,000 downloads yes um and 170 episodes
38:10
in total with the solo episodes and that is without Wi-Fi that's amazing how do you do
38:17
it a lot of patience a lot of
38:23
sport um that does not describe who I am
38:28
but you're the C fness guy I don't have any patience if my internet goes down I'm
38:34
like I'm calling I'm calling people left and right it's like you better put it back on or I'm he like I'm dropping the
38:41
hell out of you and I'm GNA go dig up the wire and cut it yeah you want to do
38:49
so my friend's like you won't do that it's like
38:56
ah I can't say yes or no I can't confirm or deny and my last question for you is uh
39:04
where can people follow you find you learn more about who you are and what you do and where can people find your
39:10
podcast and learn more about your podcast and quick you got four minutes all right cool so um LinkedIn I'm quite
39:18
active actually with the post there to be honest I've got a newsletter and podcasting uh so on the show notes
39:25
showcase notes there um on Spotify um which is okay but I'll be moving over to
39:31
a private podcast soon called hello audio which is fantastic I want to give
39:36
out a big shout out to Mike Roberts who's been supporting me in so many different ways through the podcast and
39:42
so thank you Mike um yeah um member vault as well for the book um patreon so
39:49
member Vault for the neurod Divergence and Order HD book I'll send you the link for
39:54
$9.99 um and on patreon I've got the audio book of the 13-hour life coach
40:01
book and the 13-hour life coach book is on lulu.com so that's where you can find me awesome and uh the why I was saying
40:10
you have four minutes Speak Us of the zoom timer it's counting down quickly D
40:18

41:55
again next time Hydro Flask is the best water bottle in
42:00
my opinion because it keeps my water nice cold and refreshing throughout the
42:06
day and yes I do drink a lot of water throughout the day so even though it stays long colder for longer I still
42:13
like uh having a reusable water bot bottle like hydroflex because it is sits
42:22
on my desk and uh it just sits on my desk and REM
42:27
me hey you got to drink water and and Hydro Flask uh it keeps it cold longer
42:34
which makes me want to drink more water throughout the day because you know
42:39
there's nothing worse than drinking warm water go to hydro.com or and and use the
42:47
link in the show notes and yes I do get a small commission from Hydro Flask so
42:55
which also helps support the show so uh tell them I sent you use the link below
43:00
and uh yeah check out Hydra fl.com for more information I know for myself I lose
43:08
paper easily maybe you're like me and hate using paper I don't like using
43:14
paper because I'll Just Lose It forget about it and also who has time to write
43:22
down many things on the to-do list anymore these days I know not for me as
43:27
an entrepreneur running crazy Fitness guy but thankfully a digital to-do list
43:33
app like tick tick to-do list makes it so much easier to manage set re curring
43:39
tasks and so it's nice schedule with a nice built-in pomodora timer go check
43:45
out tick TI Tod list and let them know I sent you
